On 5 March 2019, a total of 33 volunteers representing different organizations and institutions from Los Banos, Bay and Calamba, Laguna attended the Preliminary Volunteers Meeting held at Molave Room, Romulo A. del Castillo Building, College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), College, Laguna. This is in preparation for the implementation of the Make It Makiling! 2019.
Make It Makiling! (MIM!)is an Annual Lenten Season Visitor Management Program of the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME). It aims to increase visitors’ awareness and appreciation of the value of mountain ecosystems and biodiversity; showcase, promote ecotourism practical concepts and principles; enhance visitor safety, enjoyment, and experience within MMFR AHP; and promote volunteerism in the conservation of the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve ASEAN Heritage Park (MMFR AHP) and mountain ecosystems in general.
Forester Angela A. Limpiada, Assistant Overall Coordinator of MIM! 2019 facilitated the meeting together with Foresters Analyn C. Malayba and Nick M. Manlisis, Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of Bay and Los Banos Area respectively. Highlighted during the meeting were the different pre-MIM! activities, schedules and deadlines, deployment schedules and positions or posts and guidelines to be implemented during the MIM! Present also during the meeting were the MIM! 2019 Steering Committee members.
The meeting ended fruitfully and everyone are looking forward to the success of MIM! 2019
