On 28 November 2024, the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) honored Prof. Juancho B. Balatibat as he retired from the University and stepped down as Deputy Director of MCME and Head of the Botanic Gardens Park and Ecotourism Division (BGPED). Prof. Balatibat began his tenure as Deputy Director in April 2023. Though his term was relatively brief compared to others who have held the position, Prof. Balatibat left an indelible mark on the Center through his valuable insights, wisdom, and unwavering guidance.
The MCME extends its heartfelt gratitude for his significant contributions and wishes him all the best in this new chapter of his life. Congratulations, Prof. Balatibat, and may your journey ahead be as impactful and fulfilling!
