AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) and Nague Malic Magnawa & Associates (NMM) are the newest partners of the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of the Philippines Los Baños for Mount Makiling Forest Reserve’s Corporate Partnership for Environmental Restoration Program (CoPERP). CoPERP is a program for private agencies, corporations, and institutions to participate in tree planting and nurturing (TPN) projects for the protection and conservation of Mount Makiling Forest Reserve ASEAN Heritage Park (MMFR) (MMFR AHP).
APRI’s TPN project is located at So. Saimsim, Barangay Bagong Silang, Los Baños, Laguna and Barangay Sta. Elena, Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The project commenced in May 2022 where APRI planted 2,000 endemic and native forest tree species. Meanwhile, NMM through the UBE Media joined CoPERP last November 2022 where NMM and UBE Media planted 2,000 native flowering trees along the MMFR boundary in Barangay Puting Lupa, Calamba City, Laguna.
