The Makiling Botanic Gardens presents “Aunasin” as the Plant of the Month for March 2018. Ardisia serrata, popularly known as aunasin belongs to family Primulaceae. It is native to the Philippines and Indonesia. Aunasin usually blooms from March to June. The young leaves and shoots of aunasin are edible and can be used as salad greens. Its flowers can also be cooked as flavoring for fish. Come and visit MBG and have a taste of aunasin!
