The Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) in partnership with the Philippine Geothermal Production Corporation (PGPC) conducted a Farmers’ General Assembly on 24 January 2018 held at the Barangay Bitin covered court, Bay Laguna. The activity was part of the project entitled: An Indigenous Tree-Based Agroforestry Development Program in Mount Bulalo, Laguna, Philippines.
A total of 55 farmers from Barangay Bitin, Bay, Laguna and Barangay Limao, Calauan, Laguna attended the activity. Part of the Farmers’ General Assembly were the following: presentation of project accomplishments and future activities, fun games, and lectures on making organic fertilizers and pesticides.
Present during the Farmer’s General Assembly were For. Nicasio M. Balahadia, project leader with the project team: For. Rolly V. Breva, For. Leonardo D. Barua, For. Emer C. Gestiada, For. Myranel S. Canceran, For. Aldin C. Alegre, and For. Mae Belen L. Putian. Also in attendance were Dr. Rogelio T. Andrada II, Deputy Director of MCME and Mr. Victor Dugan, Asset Affairs Supervisor of PGPC together with Joyce Lopez and Ryan Pitogo.
