ADB staff visit the Makiling Botanic Gardens

On 21 February 2026, the Office of Safeguards, Policy, and Technical Services of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited the Makiling Botanic Gardens (MBG). Welcomed by one of the Educators for Nature Tourism, they toured the MBG while gaining insights into Mount Makiling Forest Reserve (MMFR) as an ASEAN Heritage Park. The visit emphasized the essential ecological functions of the reserve, showcased the themed gardens at MBG, detailed the species planted along with their ecological status, highlighted its primary role as an ecotourism site, and underscored its importance in biodiversity conservation.

As part of ADB’s Mental Health and Wellness Program, this activity underscores the institution’s commitment to fostering well-being and holistic development for its staff. Additionally, it promotes camaraderie, resilience, work-life balance, collaborative exploration, and meaningful interactions among participants, ultimately enhancing group contributions to a productive workplace environment.
