International Scientists Visit Mount Makiling

International scientists attending the International Long-Term Ecological Research Network East Asia and Pacific (ILTER-EAP) training workshop and conference visit Mount Makiling’s 2-hectare LTER site. The event is attended by local and foreign participants from various ILTER network member countries, academe, local institutions, and non-government organizations.

The 2014 ILTER East Asia Pacific (ILTER-EAP) Workshop-Conference was held from June 2 to 7, 2014 at UP Diliman with a field visit to Mount Makiling’s 2-hectare long term ecological plot within the Molawin-Dampalit Watershed.

MCME researchers attended the training workshop tackling topics on data and metadata management for long term ecological research. During the conference, MCME director Dr. Nathaniel C. Bantayan presented the research entitled “Tree Species diversity, richness, and percent canopy cover along elevational gradients in Molawin-Dampalit Watershed, Mount Makiling Forest Reserve, Laguna Philippines”.
