The staff of the Makiling Botanic Gardens (MBG) held their Strategic Planning: Familiarization Tour and Workshop at Charito’s Ecofarm in Barangay Aliliw, Lucban, Quezon, from June 5 to 7, 2025.
The three-day activity was led by Dr. Alona C. Linatoc, Division Head of the Botanic Gardens, Parks, and Ecotourism Division. Aimed at charting the future direction of MBG, the workshop focused on planning upcoming initiatives and finalizing budget allocations to support the garden’s goals.
A key component of the workshop was a guided tour of Charito’s Ecofarm, facilitated by staff member Mr. Darwin Riansales. He shared valuable knowledge on plant propagation, landscaping techniques, and environmentally sustainable farm management practices that contribute to the ecofarm’s success.
The event provided an opportunity for the MBG team to align their goals, strengthen collaboration, and draw inspiration from the ecofarm’s sustainable approaches. Insights gained during the workshop are expected to inform improvements in the operations and educational programs of MBG, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and conservation education.
