On July 10, 2024, the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. John Dickson of Angeles City, Pampanga, a dedicated private plant collector, for his generous donation of several individuals and species of Zamia, Cycads, and Palms. His donations will be cared for and conserved at the Makiling Botanic Gardens.
