On May 02 to 06, 2022, Dr. Rogelio T. Andrada II, For. Myranel S. Canceran MSc, For. Milles M. Vizcarra, and For. Lawrence Adolph M. Amada of the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems participated in the XV World Forestry Congress held in Coex, Seoul, Republic of Korea. The theme for the Congress is “Building a Green, Healthy and Resilient Future with Forests” and forestry practitioners and academics exchanged knowledge and experiences during the event. The papers submitted by the abovementioned MCME staff were accepted in the different sub-themes of congress. These papers contained findings and outputs of MCME’s research programs entitled “Carrying Capacity Determination and Valuation of Mount Makiling Forest Reserve ASEAN Heritage Park Resources towards Responsible and Sustainable Ecotourism” and “Ex-situ Conservation of Threatened Philippine Plants: Restoring Philippine Plant Resources and Environment” funded by the Department of Science and Technology”.
