Padre Burgos, Quezon – The Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) successfully conducted its annual Strategic Planning Workshop from June 9 to 11, 2025, at Isla Chica Resort, bringing together staff members from various units for a productive and engaging three-day event.

The workshop provided a platform for each unit to present their accomplishments over the past year, discuss the challenges they faced, and share the strategies they employed to address these issues. The presentations also included work plans and priorities for the remaining quarters of the year, ensuring alignment with the center’s goals leading up to the next strategic planning cycle. Dr. Lerma SJ. Maldia, Director of MCME, emphasized the importance of the planning workshop in strengthening the center’s organizational direction and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Aside from strategic discussions, the event featured team-building games and activities aimed at fostering camaraderie, collaboration, and open communication among staff. These activities provided a refreshing break from routine work, allowing participants to bond and unwind in a relaxed environment.

The three-day workshop reaffirmed MCME’s commitment to its mandate of conserving and sustainably managing the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve through a united, well-coordinated, and forward-looking workforce.
