On 24 September 2025, the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) actively participated in the ACB BioRun 2025, taking part in both the 3K and 5K categories. Organized by the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) as part of its 20th Anniversary celebration, the event brought together around 100 fitness and nature enthusiasts.
The event began with an energetic Zumba warm-up, setting the tone for the morning’s activities. The 5K run was flagged off at exactly 6:00 AM, followed shortly by the 3K run at 6:05 AM.
The BioRun aims to combine fitness with advocacy, encouraging communities to stay active while raising awareness of biodiversity conservation. MCME’s participation reflects its continuing support for ACB initiatives and its commitment to promoting environmental protection through public engagement.
