The Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) is pleased to announce the addition of its new special policeman, Mr. Deomar Carlos O. Magkawas IV, who will be joining the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve Protection and Regulation Unit (PRU) of the center.
Mr. Magkawas took his oath at the MCME Director’s Office on the 27th of April 2026, in the presence of For. Myranel S. Canceran, OIC-Director; For. Arnulfo D. Yanoria, Head of PRU; and For. Aldin C. Alegre, Team Leader of the Molawin-Dampalit/Cambantoc Watershed Team of PRU.
As part of the PRU, Mr. Magkawas will assist in the continuous monitoring and protection of the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve ASEAN Heritage Park as well as conduct of coordination and information dissemination with local government units and community organizations both within and outside his designated area of responsibility. His support will enhance MCME’s capacity to fulfill its mandates by strengthening the enforcement of forest protection laws and ensuring regulatory compliance.
