Highlighting its participation in the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL) 48th Annual Scientific Meeting held on 8–9 July 2026 at the Manila Hotel, one of the staff from the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) secured a Best Scientific Poster award.
Under the Social Sciences Division, Dr. Mae Belen L. Putian presented the poster titled Integrated PGIS and Hot Spot Analysis for Profiling Cultural Ecosystem Services in Mount Makiling’s Forest-Agroforestry Landscapes, which emerged as one of the division’s awardees.
Equally showcasing the Center’s research contributions, For. Leilani A. Castillo presented a poster for the Biological Sciences Division titled Population Survey of Pinanga bicolana Suggests Potential Expansion of its Natural Distribution, co-authored by Dr. Lerma SJ.
