Morinda citrifolia L. bracteata (Roxb.) Hook.f popularly known as Noni is the Makiling Botanic Gardens Plant of the Month for February 2019. Noni or “cheese fruit” belongs to family Rubiaceae. It is distributed across Southeast Asia and Australia and cultivated throughout the tropics. It is also widely naturalized. Noni is attractive to weaver ants that nests on its leaves. It protects Noni from plant-parasitic insects! Amazing!
