As part of its continuing commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, NXPH, in partnership with the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) and the local community, conducted its regular quarterly maintenance of its established tree planting site in Sitio Saimsim, Barangay Sta. Elena, Sto. Tomas, Batangas, on August 16, 2025.

A total of 21 NXPH staff worked alongside MCME personnel and community partners to carry out brushing, weeding, and other essential maintenance activities. These efforts form part of a four-year partnership plan designed to improve site conditions and increase the survival rate of seedlings planted during the program’s first year.

Beyond tree care, the program also integrates community development. Local residents were engaged and hired to assist in the maintenance activities, providing not only an additional source of livelihood but also cultivating a sense of shared responsibility and stewardship over public lands.

NXPH’s consistent participation in these initiatives reflects its strong commitment to environmental restoration and biodiversity conservation. By supporting the long-term management of Mount Makiling Forest Reserve (MMFR), NXPH ensures that its corporate social responsibility programs deliver lasting benefits—helping safeguard ecosystems while strengthening local communities.
