The Makiling Botanic Gardens presents “Tayabak-babae” as the Plant of the Month for September 2018. Alpinia haenkei C. Presl., locally known as tayabak-babae belongs to family Zingiberaceae. It is native to the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. It is primarily found in the low and medium altitudes of the forest.
