The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), through the Makiling Botanic Gardens (MBG) of the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME), College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR), served as the host venue for the Multi-species Conservation Planning Workshop for Threatened Philippine Trees, held at the Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), College, Laguna, Philippines, from 22 to 26 June 2026.
The workshop was organized by Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Biodiversity Management Bureau (DENR-BMB), with funding support from Fondation Franklinia. It aimed to identify concrete actions to build on the existing Philippine Plant Conservation Strategy and Action Plan (PPCSAP) and the National Action Plan for Ecosystem Restoration and Species Extinction Prevention (NAPERSEP).
