Mr. Colin Holmes, a representative from the United States Agency for International Development – Regional Development Mission for Asia (USAID-RDMA), along with Mr. Timothy Pasicolan of the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB), visited the Makiling Botanic Gardens (MBG) on September 24, 2024. The guided tour was led by For. Alexis John T. Fajardo, Forest Technician II, with assistance from For. Angela A. Limpiada, University Extension Associate II of the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) at the College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).
The tour lasted for two hours, longer than the usual route provided for dignitaries. For. Fajardo indulged Mr. Holmes’ keen interest, showcasing the various themed gardens at MBG, such as the Dipterocarp Arboretum and the nursery, and even exploring the MBG Ecotrail. Mr. Holmes appeared to thoroughly enjoy the experience.
