On 29 January 2021, the Philippine Geothermal Production Company Inc. headed by its new Asset Affairs Director Hec Morota visited the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME), College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB). With Director Morota is PGPC Public Affairs Supervisor Mr. Vic Dugan and Assets Affairs Officer Ms. Joyce Lopez.
Dr. Roberto G. Visco and Dr. Rogelio T. Andrada II, Director and Deputy Director of MCME welcomed him together with Foresters Leilani A. Castillo, Head of the Forest and Watershed Division (FWD) and Myranel S. Canceran, Head of the Extension and Linkages Supports Unit of MCME.
They discussed on-going projects in MCME such as the “Kupkop Kabundukan” and the Participatory Development through Community Based Natural Resource Management in Mount Makiling Forest Reserve and Mt. Bulalo.
Both agencies were looking forward to more project collaborations towards the protection and conservation of Mount Makiling Forest Reserve ASEAN Heritage Park and other nearby ecosystems while supporting its stakeholders.
