DOST-PCAARRD commenced its second year of the training workshop on “Biodiversity Resource Assessment and Monitoring Methods.” Part of the training includes a visit to the University of the Philippines Los Baños and Makiling Botanic Gardens on 23 November 2023. The Deputy Director of Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems, Prof. Juancho B. Balatibat welcomed the visitors while For. Angela Limpiada gave an introduction to Mount Makiling Forest Reserve.
The tour was led by Educators for Nature Tourism (ENTs) Edwin Dela Cruz and Rowell Ivanhoe Sarmiento. The tour focused on the native and endemic species of the Philippines as well as the ex-situ collections inside the gardens.
