Mr. Immanuel Gebhardt, GIZ PH Country Director, and Mr. Philipp Quitmann, GIZ Country Manager visited the Makiling Botanic Gardens this 24th of November 2022. As part of their visit to the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB), they went to the Makiling Botanic Gardens to have a glimpse of some parts of the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve (MMFR) which is also an ASEAN Heritage Park. After a short introduction and tour, they planted Malakatmon (Dillenia luzoniensis (S.Vidal) Matelli ex Dur. et. Jacks) and Baguilumbang (Reutealis trisperma (Blanco) Airy Shaw, Kew Bull.) at the Flora Filipiniana, a theme garden especially assigned for native trees that are collected within the Philippines. The seedlings planted were collections of the Ex-Situ Project from Palawan, Quezon Natural Park, and MMFR.
