On 24 November 2025, the Makiling Botanic Gardens warmly welcomed guests from the Australian Catholic University (ACU), assisted by the UPLB Media and Communication Office (UPLB-MCO). Their visit was part of their learning activity at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, focusing on addressing the country’s pressing environmental issues.
Forester Alexis John Fajardo led the ACU and UPLB-MCO delegation to the Toyota Environmental and Education Theater. There, they viewed the communication, education, and public awareness materials about the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve ASEAN Heritage Park, which were prepared by the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems. The orientation showcased UPLB’s initiatives, policy contributions, and conservation programs aimed at promoting the sustainable management of natural resources.
