On 2 April 2018, Monday, the Makiling Traverse (MakTrav) via Ecopark, Brgy. Sta. Elena, Sto. Tomas, Batangas through Station 1 of Sipit Trail will be officially open for hiking. As you can recall, MakTrav was temporarily closed to the public since 17 October 2017 due to landslide incidence that affected Stations 16 to 18. The Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) established a new route completed just in time for the opening of the Make it Makiling! which started last 25 March 2018 and will end on 1 April 2018.
The MakTrav is open only for visitors who officially registered at Ecopark for day use only and overnight camping is strictly prohibited.
Enjoy and have a safe hike!
