The Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) through the Social Forestry Division (SFD) headed by For. Nicasio M. Balahadia organized the “Ugnayan sa Pamayanan” in Barangay Bagong Silang last 30 July 2018. “Ugnayan sa Pamayanan” aims to discuss various issues, problems and concerns of the communities surrounding the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve ASEAN Heritage Park (MMFR AHP) and address it accordingly.
A total of 25 attended the activity who are either member of farmer groups or part of the newly elected barangay officials of Barangay Bagong Silang. During the activity, they wrote and prepared a formal letter addressed to the director of MCME for the list of their issues and concerns.

Balahadia, Head of the Social Forestry Division (SFD); For. Myranel S. Canceran, University Research Associate II (URA II); Mr. Benjamin D. Arizala, University Extension Specialist II (UES II); For. Leonardo D. Barua, University Extension Specialist II (UES II); and Ms. Gillian Katherine L. Inciong, University Research Associate II (URA II) of the SFD MCME.
