On Wednesday, 30 June 2021, a group of researchers from the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NFP) visited the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME) to discuss possible collaboration. The team who visited MCME is composed of two horticulturists and a design assistant namely Mr. Esteban Vergel, Sr.; Mr. Antonio Tolentino, Jr.; and Mr. Geoffrey Solidum respectively.
Dr. Rogelio T. Andrada II, Deputy Director of MCME and Head of the Botanic Gardens Park and Ecotourism Division (BGPED) welcomed the team and represented the MCME during the discussion. Highlights of the discussion were the possible collaboration arrangements between NPF and MCME regarding the urban forest. The team will formalize their engagement with MCME and will provide the Center the details of the project like plans and activities to be undertaken to develop their site into an urban forest.
The team was very grateful and was looking forward to the success of the collaboration between NFP and MCME.
