UPLB-PA3i-Australian Embassy Tree Planting Activity at the Makiling Botanic Gardens

Australian Ambassador Her Excellency HK Yu and UPLB Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr. with the Philippine Australian Alumni Association Inc. (PA3i) had a ceremonial tree planting at the Makiling Botanic Gardens last January 22, 2024. This is part of the UPLB-PA3i-Australian Embassy Tree Planting Activity with the theme: Protecting the Environment through Stronger Alliances. A welcome message from Dean Marlo D. Mendoza of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources was followed by a brief description of the seedlings to be planted by Prof. Juancho B. Balatibat, Deputy Director of MCME.

Her Excellency HK Yu planted Kalulot (Artocarpus rubrovenius Warb.) and Marang Banguhan (Artocarpus odoratissimus Blanco) at the Figs and Breadfruit theme garden. The Figs and Breadfruit theme garden was adopted by the Philippine Australian Alumni Association Inc. (PA3i) last 30th of July 2021 during the tree planting of Australian Ambassador Mr. Richard Sisson.
