Adonidia merrillii (Becc.) Becc. popularly known as Manila palm is the Makiling Botanic Gardens Plant of the Month for October 2018. Manila palm belongs to family Arecaceae commonly known as “Christmas Palm.” It is native in the Philippines specifically in Palawan and Dajugan Island. You can also find Manila palm in Sabah, Malaysia. It is widely cultivated and planted as an ornamental plant. It can also grow well in subtropical areas like in Florida Peninsula.
