On 24 February 2021, the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems (MCME), College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), conducted billboard launching in Barangays Sta. Elena and San Vicente, Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The billboard launching entitled “Mga Pakinabang sa Bundok Makiling at Bulalo” aims to further understand and appreciate the services and benefits that we are getting from these important mountains.
The activity was attended by the barangay officials led by its respective barangay captains namely Hon. Proceso C. Mendoza of Bry. Sta. Elena and Hon. Domingo M. Carpio of Brgy. San Vicente. Ms. Joyce Marie M. Lopez of Philippine Geothermal Production Company (PGPC), Inc. also graced the activity.
The billboard launching is in line with project entitled “Participatory Development through Community Based Natural Resources Management in Mount Makiling Forest Reserve and Mt. Bulalo” funded by PGPC with For. Nicasio M. Balahadia as Project Leader.
